Amazing work

Ok, so I said to myself I would review all the songs I am using for my game, but obviously I put it off for a while :P Anyway, DnB is one of my favorite genres, but I was kinda doubtful I could fit a song in the genre into a text heavy RPG- it just lacks that kind of action most of the time. However, that was until I heard this. I knew I could fit in into the end boss run somewhere, and it didn't actually go to the final boss, but their right-hand men. The song is sufficiently evil for the part, and makes the fight more exciting. I like the off-beat instrument in the beginning (whatever it is :P) that contributes a feeling of uneasiness and tension.

Nice job on the #18 score rank- it deserves it.

I would love to know when it is done! I LOVE to see what people can do with my tunes.

The climactic battle!

One of the disagreements I have with your music stylings (and it's a small one, I swear!) is that some of your battle music (mainly this) would work better as boss music in my mind. Of course, it's awesome either way. I love this battle theme, and it's my favorite of yours, although I think the climactic tones in here are a bit too much for a simple battle. I use this for when the hero fights somebody important to the story. I'm actually quite curious when you say it didn't turn out like you thought it would, because this is a pretty dang nice piece of music here- I'm especially a fan of the piano and strings working together like that.

Long time no review!

Ok... so, I said to myself I would write reviews for all songs I used in my game, but obviously I put it off for a (long) while. So... the beginning immediately put me in a Motoi Sakuraba frame of mind- the drumbeats reminded me of Tales of Symphonia, actually, as well as the flute-ish (forgive me, I'm not an ace at picking out instruments) sounds in the latter half (starting at 0:57-0:58). This is a great song for any desolate place without life, but yet with a odd mysticality to it. Obviously, I liked it :P

Yay!

For something outside your usual scope here, it's not bad at all. I just thought your existing stuff was kind of 'epic-er' than it needed to be- those battle themes sounded more like boss tunes to me. Oh well- maybe it's because I've been working on a simple game far too long. XD

Anyway, I was initially left wondering for the first 10 seconds of the song (it seemed like it wouldn't really fit- I tend to be pickier than I should be here; beggars can't be choosers and all that) but I kept listening and it kept sounding better- even that 'background' part at the beginning. It's probably the looping that makes it less noticeable- the whole song (with looping) sounds a lot more cohesive.

Long story short, I'm extremely happy that you did this- thanks a ton!

Great easy listening

Man, what can I say about this song? The piano really helps bring out the piece, and the guitar melody really suits it well- you can barely tell the difference if you're just casually listening. Overall, a really soft and sometimes even delicate piece- perhaps too much so for General Rock, but that's just being picky.

I hate putting something as misc. and its not really jazz so this was the best place to put it in my opinion but thanks for the review man!

Trippy

This song is uber-laid back, almost like you're floating in air at the beginning, and the somewhat slow beat of the drums that come in later help to bring you back down to earth. The background of the piece is where a lot of the ambiance comes from, and you can really get lost in it.

I was rather iffy at first about including this in my game, but it actually seems to make good menu music.

My biggest gripe with this song is when it momentarily stops at about 2:00. I honestly think it ruins the mood.

Mad in a good way!

One of the main gripes people seem to have with this song is the pitch. This isn't really bad for how I'm using it (against an optional fight with a mad scientist in an RPG)- in fact, it HELPS. It's perfect to accent the fact that the guy is pretty much off his rocker. That said, I think the background track noticeable in the beginning actually does start to grate after a while, but this is a great song, and I love the drums working up right before the 'high point' of the song- really makes it worthy of a boss tune.

A perfect seaside tune

This song sounds (well, to me anyway) at once laid-back yet with the air of something still going on- perhaps not quite out at sea but at a busy seaside town or harbor with a slightly fantasy-like feel. The instruments blend together well and the different parts of the piece transition seamlessly. This track is definitely deserving of a 'masterpiece collection', and a 10.

I'm glad you liked it! :)

Thanks for the comment!

Awesome high-energy song

First off, I wouldn't really say it's classical either. The drumbeats kind of ruin that alone. That said, I think it's a great song, and there's a fair bit going on in the background that makes this song really feel important. Of particular interest to me is the background stuff that starts out at 0:24 and goes through 0:35 or so. It really stands out as a well-written track, and this would definitely not be out of place in a RPG game.
