Well, it's out. First Fantasy v1.1 features new things, improved things, and secret things!: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/
547389

Changes (ch-ch-changes...):
Fixed a infinite casino chip exploit.
New Game Plus added! Unlock it first.
??? added! Unlock it too.
Blackjack added in the casino!
Halsaban revamp, no more commands!
Fixed (well, partially at least) the TIPs showing up when it WASN'T your first playthrough- most of them are only supposed to show on your first playthrough only.
Other small errors fixed.

At this time, I would like to present a small program that I created- Quick Tournament Organizer. As the name implies, you can quickly organize small tournaments of 4 to 32 people. For a more detailed explanation, go to the Newgrounds entry: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/

And here's the download links (It works best in fullscreen, especially if you're using a computer to show off the bracket and aren't just printing it off):

Windows download (4 MB):

Mac zipped download (6 MB):

I've noticed some trends among what gets passed and blammed, so I've compiled a list of ten things NOT to say (or at least use with caution) when you submit Flash to the portal. There are a few simple ways to avoid looking like you don't really know what you're doing here. I know this from some of the rejects, and from judging quite a few Flashes in my time.

1. It's only my first game.
- Yes, this is a legitimate thing to say unless all you have is a picture of some guy flying around against an all-white background.
2. ...so I submitted this again.
- Legitimate if you had updated your Flash enough for an immediately noticeable difference. If it was blammed the first time, don't resubmit. If you do it immediately, the same people will be judging, and the only thing they'll be happy for is the easy blam point.
3. Vote 5!
- Also legitimate, but if you have something you KNOW is bad, nothing can save you from being Blammed.
4. I'm not done with it yet
- Legitimate if you want to solicit feedback and/or want to show something off that is MOSTLY DONE and just needs polish mainly.
5. Don't blam this.
- Now we enter the realm of don't use in any circumstances. Most flashes with this simple sentence will, in fact, be blammed. Why? This shows you yourself don't have any confidence in what you made. If you don't, why should we?
6. Don't blame this.
- Same as above, except you also commit the fatal error of proving you don't know basic Newgrounds terminology. Ouch.
7. Something in Spanish or some other language (when we all know you had to read English to get this far into the site)
- As far as I know, Newgrounds is only an English site. Having an author comment in ONLY another language (English and then a translation is perfectly fine) is just a turnoff for many normal users. Plus, didn't you need to read English to submit to Newgrounds in the first place?
8. This flash attempts to shed light on the inner workings of society, while examining what we as mere cogs in the machine can do about it, culminating in a poignant documentary that explores the fragile pieces of our world.
- A flash with this type of description is virtually 99.9% guaranteed to be awful, bearing no relation to the description.
9. Please don't blam it again.
- Well, we blammed it once, what's to stop us from doing it again? Usually, using this implies you made no attempt to improve.
10. lololol
- Implies you are age 13 or under.

v1.0.3 is now available. Go to it. It calls you.

- Error with selling casino chips has been fixed
- Error with skipping the first part of the Island of No Return sidequest is fixed

And since I feel like inserting a DJ MAX/Google Translator reference here:

Always striving (primary) will be the BoMM Productions.
Thank you.

First Fantasy made it to #9 on the chart for yesterday's highest-scoring entries. And to think, if it had been submitted Saturday or Sunday, it would have been first. o_o

I've sent out the first beta build to all the musicians involved, as well as about 20 other people somehow involved or interested in the project. The game's coming along, and there's a definite difference between 0.65 and now. The game will remain in beta until I'm sure I've gotten nearly everything, so it might be a week or a month.

But it's definitely coming.

EDIT: ALSO, for all of the testers, I'm maintaining a bugs page: http://first-fantasy.webs.com/apps/blo g/show/4365958-first-fantasy-v1-beta-b ugs-list

I'll update it regularly. If you find anything, first check it against this list to see if I know about it or not.

EDIT 2: Second build released. If you're one of the people concerned, contact me for details.

EDIT 3: Third build- and probably the final one- released! Once again, contact me for details.

EDIT 4: I lied. Fourth build released.

And the call for beta testers is now out! There's at least one person here who was interested, so if YOU'RE interested, speak up and you can take the game for a test spin (or several) for a week before release. The beta will go out in four, maybe three weeks if nothing unexpectedly bad happens.

Getting a flash of inspiration can be pretty awesome sometimes. Play (Be a) Vuvuzela Hero (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view /539721) for a fun little diversion while you're waiting for First Fantasy.

I released v0.65 a couple days ago and informed basically everybody who had some part in the game up until now about it. It's actually amazing that I'm this far, because the only things left to do are:

1) Find/make music for where there isn't any
2) Find backgrounds for where there aren't any
3) Once I get the character art, use all of that and the backgrounds to remake the cutscenes with said art.

That's really it... because I'm basically done with programming the thing, random bugs and glitches that might be found aside. The rest could take a only month, or it could take several, but I'm going to try to finish it this summer no matter what happens.
